Property releases are required when your content features artwork, designs, or recognizable intellectual property. Rejections typically happen when the release form is incomplete, incorrect, or illegible.

1. Common reasons for rejection

Your content may be rejected for “Invalid Property Release – One or more of the attached property releases does not meet our requirements” due to:

  • Release is incorrectly filled out or altered.

  • Information in the release has been changed (e.g., copied/pasted signatures, crossed-out details).

  • Release is incomplete or missing required fields.

  • Handwriting is illegible.

  • The file is low resolution, blurry, cut off, or otherwise unreadable.

  • Non-English releases are used that are not from Shutterstock, Easy Release, Getty Images, iStockphoto, or Adobe.
