Search results on the customer site are based on complicated algorithms that take a multitude of factors into account. Our primary goal is to provide our customers with the best search experience that satisfies their content needs and ultimately leads to downloads. So we are constantly working on perfecting our search tools and the results returned by our search engine, with the goal of helping our customers find the right image.
Search results are sorted in three ways:
New - the newest images that match the search terms
Popular - the most popular results that match the search terms
Best Match - the most relevant search, based on our algorithm
The order in which images appear within search results is dictated by our algorithms that consider a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the total number of downloads and image number. So for example, the number of downloads is not the only factor determining placement in Popular and image ID is not the only factor determining placement in New. You can learn more about it here: Why did my content move to a different place in search results?
Our computer vision team is also creating amazing new ways for customers to find your images, like returning visually similar search results and developing technology that enables reverse image search.
