In an effort to provide our contributors with insight into customer demands, we created a couple of resources that can guide you when planning your next shoot or design project.
The Shot List
The Shot List is a monthly guide of what to shoot based on customer demand. Our in-house team of experts use seasonal and recent search trends to predict what customers want. This data is used to develop shoot briefs exclusively for Shutterstock Contributors.
We pull a list of keywords that customers are searching for based on these two trends:
Seasonal Trends: We pull keyword searches covering the upcoming months from last year. For example, The Shot List for this November would include keyword searches from last year's December and January. We do this to predict what customers will be searching for in the near future and give contributors lead time to schedule, shoot and submit content before customers start searching for it.
Recent Trends: We pull keyword searches covering last month this year. For example, The Shot List for November of this year would include keywords from the month before to predict recent trends that customers are searching for now, regardless of the season.
After we pull the keyword trends, we publish a brief based on expertise of internal contributor and research teams to provide our contributors with more direction on what type of content to create.
Trending Keywords
Each month we’re highlighting which keywords have had the highest increase in search frequency, as well as the ones to watch for based on historical or seasonal trends. Check out the list here.
