A watermark that better protects your work

User-added image

We are updating the entire Shutterstock collection gradually. Your existing images may not all be processed at the same time.

Why is the watermark being updated?
The security of your work is of the utmost importance. The updated watermark is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a secure marketplace.

The new watermark design will feature extra levels of security and feature your display name as part of the design.

Where will I see the new watermark?

The new watermark can be seen on the 1500px previews on the Shutterstock site.

This watermark will also show in 1500px images that appear in search engine results.

How specifically is this new watermark providing enhanced protection?

The new watermark is slightly different on each image, and will credit contributors in the design. Because the watermark on each image is unique, it helps protect against potential attempts to develop technologies that remove watermarks at large scale.
