If your content was rejected with “Content does not meet our minimum quality standards.”, it may be because your file contains ‘live’ fonts. Live fonts consist of any text not converted into outlined shapes. In order to display the font correctly, the original font must be loaded onto the user’s computer. Live fonts can result in mismatched image previews and customer frustration, so they should not be included in vector submissions.
In the following image, notice that the preview appears normal:
However, if a customer does not own the font above, Adobe Illustrator will substitute a default font when the vector is opened after downloading:
Converting Live Fonts Into Outlines
To convert live fonts into outlines:
Select the live fonts you wish to outline
Using Adobe Illustrator, go to Type>Create Outlines
Outline Mode: Before Outlining
Outline Mode: After Outlining
Notice that an outlined font no longer appears to be filled in when viewed in Outline Mode, and instead appears as a series of outlined letters.
Checking Your Vector File for Live Fonts
To verify that your vector illustration does not contain any live fonts, follow these steps:
Using Adobe Illustrator, go to Window>Document Info
Select “Fonts”
Select all of the objects in your file. Any live fonts will appear in your Document Info window.
If the Document Info window displays “NONE” after selecting all of the objects in your file, you have successfully outlined all fonts.
We Recommend
Before submitting a vector illustration, ask yourself:
Have I converted all my live fonts into outlined fonts?
Have I double checked the Document Info window to verify if any live fonts may have been overlooked?
